Owen and Arthur are in a competition. Obviously I think they should win. I mean don't they look really happy. Anyway, the prize is a trip to Tuscany for two and as Arthur and Daddy were having a picnic as a result of Arthur wanting to go on Holiday, it would be really cool. They were watching Tennis on TV and pretending they were on holiday in Wimbledon while eating Strawberries & Cream. I know... Ahhh!!

If you want to vote for them, all you have to do is click on the photo and vote!!! (Pretty Please Wink)

Interest

The Los Angeles exhibit manufacturers opened a year before I was born. I was a twinkling in mum's eye!! Apparently they do more than just trade exhibits, they will even show museum displays etc. And why am I so interested... well I just thought I would look up more information to try to tease Randolph with!!

Funny

Giggle. I think about my telling Randolph to check out Los Angeles exhibit manufacturers for his desk and I fall about laughing. I still think it is funny. Mind you it could be simply my sense of humour or lack of it. It is said the funniest thing I ever said or did was owned The Joke Shop... but I still am giggling!! LOL!!

Desks

It has been more than 3 years and Randolph is still looking for a desk!! Nothing is good enough!! Today he thought about taking a folding desk (incidentally metal legs and heavy) to Malta. We could not believe it. We told him, he might as well consider going to Los Angeles exhibit manufacturers, if he thinks he can take a desk from the Uk to Malta via RyanAir!!

We could not stop laughing!!!

Staines

We finished the downstairs flat today. The changes are incredible. It is now a 2 bedroom place with a luxury bathroom with corner bath. Put in a new carpet into one of the bedrooms. Bought a new washing machine. Put up curtains everywhere and even finished off with a couple of fragrance lamps. It really turned out well. Cannot wait for Owen to see it.

Spiders

I finally dug out my maternity clothes but found a spider had nestled inside and left a cobweb. Considering my phobia with spiders, it made my skin crawl. At least I have worked my phobia enough to just wash the clothes and be able to wear them. Hopefully all thoughts of the spider (which incidentally I did not see) will vanish!

Otherwise, I guess I could always shop for more!!

Fresh Smelling

Who would have thought that a carpet freshener and an air freshener could make such a difference to a house. The house smelt so much fresher when our new cleaner used them. I must get hold of some more smelly things like fragrance lamps or perhaps a sense and spray to keep the house constantly smelling fresh.

I must say I think I like our new cleaner.. pity she is only temporary till the new one returns.

Anniversary Gifts

I have been searching for a gift for Owen for our tenth anniversary. We always get each other traditional gifts. This year it is tin or aluminium. So after wrecking my brains, this is what I have so far short listed....

Owen said phones have tin in them too.... I think he is dropping a hint!!

Travel

We arrived yesterday after all our travelling. We flew ryanair which isn't so bad. I tend to think of it as a bus service and keep in mind that I don't carry heavy stuff like golf drivers or heavy luggage... then it really works out cheaply. Good thing too because otherwise we probably could not travel so often.

Maternity Stuff

Yesterday I had a maternity booking appointment at hospital. Owen came with me. I thought there might be paper work associated so for the first time I left Arthur at home with Jo. Good thing too. The paperwork took around an hour... and we weren't even rewarded with a scan. How sad is that!! Well they did say maybe next week. Wish I could get a scan every week!!

Maternity Clothes

I am growing bigger and bigger by the second. I cannot fit into my regular clothes and it feels almost too early for maternity clothes. I think I will invest in a pair of maternity jeans though because they would be comfortable and perfect for everyday. The thing that keeps me going is the knowledge that I am growing two wonderful babies inside me. Aw!!!

Golf

I tried to do some research on golf and mens drivers but all I found on wikipedia was this ...

"A full set typically consists of a driver, two fairway woods (generally 3- and 5-woods), a set of irons from 3 to 9, a pitching wedge, a sand wedge, a putter, and one more club of the player's choice."

But really... means absolutely nothing to me... as I said golf is beyond me!

Golf

I always thought that golf was just a game played with golf clubs and golf balls and balls are hit to land in 18 holes one after the other. You did require an odd name like Tiger or Lion but any one could play. But apparently it is more complicated than that. You have to choose drivers (there are mens drivers and womans drivers) and there are Tees (not the warm comforting drink) and caddys and who knows what. Golf does not look like it will be my game!

Anniversary

I cannot decide what to do for our anniversary. I would like to mark it in a special way but being so heavily pregnant... well it gets hard to do anything really. I was looking at the benchmark rings for Owen but it would be nice to do something special too. It is a real shame about not being able to go on a cruise. C'est la vie!

Benchmark Rings

I thought that benchmark rings marked an occasion such as a special event. I thought this was great bearing in mind that I just found out that I am pregnant. Not only pregnant but carrying twins. I thought yeah I will get a ring to mark the occasion. Except I found out that they make quality mens wedding rings. Not quite what I had in mind. Perhaps a twin diamond ring with an entwined design. Or am I being too specific? Owen sweetness... is this a good enough hint?

Love is...

Aren't these Love Glass Coaster Wedding Favors absolutely adorable. I have never been particularly fond of items with words on them such as plate with plate written all over it or fork with fork all over it. But this says LOVE... which makes it romantic in my book. Again not sure I would use them as wedding favours, but if I had a modern apartment, they are must have coasters.

Kids Clothes

Finding places to buy kids clothes has become so much harder. With Woolworths closing down and with Adams closing down... and today Empire closing down... seriously leaves you very little. Obviously there are some specialised kids clothing places like Naartjie but I loved the range (and prices) that Woolies used to have. I guess their prices were just too good to be true!! Shame.

Baby Clothes

I cannot wait to prepare all the new babies clothes. My current thought is if I am pregnant with twins, what do I do for their christening gowns? You see I love the one that was specially made for Arthur... but I cannot imagine making an identical one would be that easy. Maybe I should have one made for each of them.

Double Proof!

I guess that now I have passed my two-factor authentication, I can actually tell people that our treatment worked and that I am pregnant. What I mean is that my home pregnancy test is positive and so is my hospital blood test positive. I am at over 1000 in my HCG levels, which means that I am pregnant. It is a high level, so it is good news, but perhaps I ought to be a bit conservation until my first scan. I am going to keep my fingers crossed.

Golf

I don't know much about golf at all. What I have heard is that topping misuno drivers is the most painful torture known to man or was it something else? I guess trying to follow a conversation where you have no idea which is heads and which is tails, means you just don't follow it. Anyone up to explaining golf to me?

Tuesday, 10 February 2009

Live!

Wouldn't it be great if I could use live video streaming services to show the baby on scans and perhaps being born. I guess most people would think it is gross, but I know that with Arthur, my sister would love to have been there but sometimes it is easier to not have too many people. Mind you I guess it would lose the privacy of it all!

Maternity Clothes

I need to dig out my maternity clothes. I am especially after my maternity underwear. I so desperately want comfort. Suddenly all my underwear is tight and uncomfortable. I also suspect that it won't be long before I will be in full maternity wear anyway!

Baby Furniture

It just dawned on me that in less than 8 months we will have a new little baby! I am so unprepared. Admittedly, I only just found out I am pregnant but I need to get organised. I need to sort out some baby furniture, baby clothes, nappies etc. Admittedly I have everything from Arthur (unless we have a girl, then I only have boys clothes) but I have to go sort through everything!!!

I am so excited.... !!!

Doctor Doctor

I came across a funny joke today about doctors and a woman being uncomfortable in the surgery to undress. The doctors solution to that was to turn off the high bay lights - typical male doctor. But anyway... this at least has some humour in it, so I had to blog it!

Considering how often I have been going to doctors and how often I will need to keep going, I thought it apt.

Energy Certificates

The work in Staines is driving me up the wall.... how am I meant to decide between
high bay light and neons? All I know is that I want my lights to be energy saving. Is that request too much to ask? I mean seriously isn't a light... just a light?

Never mind.... time to research!!

Builders

I have had such a horrible time with builders. We used Birchwood Building & Construction and you would not believe the hell they put me through. It took 1 year 3 months instead of the quoted 6 - 8 weeks. And that is just the tip of the iceberg.

Next time I won't just judge on sales talk but I will go pick from custom exhibit builders. Mind you I did pick these as they came recommended from RLA! I guess we all learn from our mistakes.

Wednesday, 4 February 2009

Get ready..

Get ready to buy some baby shower gifts.... because.... we have a positive result!!!

We are officially pregnant!! Yeah!!! I cannot believe just how quickly the treatment passed and that it is actually a positive result. I will write more about it on Warm & Dry!!

Meanwhile, we are simply all over the moon!!

Wish I had a smilie that could show how I feel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yippee!!

Signs

Is it a sign? My head keeps reeling! I have had heartburn most of this 2ww. My sense of smell is out of this world. Everything smells so strongly. Who needs Fragrance Lamps when you have a sense of smell as enhanced as mine!! Probably just the medication, but it just makes me think I just might have some luck and/or chance!

lines

In my line confusion... here are some more lines... one liners!

If Barbie is so popular, why do you have to buy her friends?
For Sale: Parachute. Only used once, never opened, small stain.
Why do psychics have to ask you for your name?
Corduroy pillows: They're making headlines!
I drive way too fast to worry about cholesterol.
I couldn't repair your brakes, so I made your horn louder.
Depression is merely anger without enthusiasm.
Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.
Early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.

Authenticated

An American tourist travelling in Limerick came across a little antique shop in which he was lucky enough to pick up, for a mere $150, the skull of Saint Patrick. Included in the price was
certificate authentication of the skull, signed by Saint Patrick himself.Ten years later the tourist returned to Ireland and asked the antique shop owner if he had any more bargains.'I've got the very thing for you,' said the Irishman. 'It's the genuine skull of Saint Patrick'.'You swindler,' said the American. 'You sold me that ten years ago,' and, producing the skull, added, 'Look, they're not even the same size'.'You have it all wrong,' said the Irishman. 'This is the skull of Saint Patrick when he was a lad'.

Leeds

Just back from Leeds. All went well. I must say I loved the shops there. I could not help but shop shop and shop. I even saw some lovely jewellery. I find that I want certificate authentication when I pick up second hand jewellery. The reason I like second hand jewellery is they tend to be old and the styles are more classic and so much more beautiful. I do prefer classic anything over modern, but then thats me!

The Internet

I have been helping out at my local church youth group on a Tuesday. It is funny that no matter what you do, there is always so much paper work to go with it. You need to log names, dates and plan out things. Then there are accounts. Not to forget that you also need to keep everyone updated. Thankfully email really helps to improve application availability. Admittedly calling works, but you cannot forward paperwork on a phone unless attached to a fax. So here's to email and the web! I forget what it was like pre laptops!!

Arthur's Birthday

It is Arthur's Birthday today. We threw a party for him complete with bouncy castle. He dressed up as King Arthur. We had loads of fairies visiting. And Arthur even had a special visit from Spiderman! He received so many presents (and in case you are wondering he did not get any fragrance lamps)! LOL!

Party Time

I am getting all prepared for Arthur's Party on Sunday. Everything is being organized. I have named Party Bags, Party Toys, Modelling Balloons, A Bouncy Castle, My Camera and Video. It would be great live event video streaming so all our family and friends in Malta can be there. But truthfully I have enough on my plate without adding more to it.

Birthday

People keep asking me what to get Arthur for his birthday. I know I don't want official NFL Jerseys but I don't quite know what to ask on his behalf. He seems to have everything he needs from books to toys to clothes! Honestly I am really stuck for ideas for what to say.

Arthur is getting so excited about his birthday coming up! Mind you, so am I!

Party Organization

I have been preparing for weeks for Arthur's Party. It has taken so much planning and Thank heavens for database administration or there is no way I would have been able to get organized. I literally had to plan everything from the guest list to the entertainment and from the food to the party bags. Here is to hoping that all goes well on Sunday.

Makes me wonder if I am up to party planning!! We will know pretty soon!

Monday, 12 January 2009

Tesco Sucks

Tesco sucks!! I placed an order with them today and they did not even have the courtesy to call me to cancel. They really need to improve application availability, which is obviously non existent. I could not even get the staff to give me coherent information. This is aside from the fact that I do not even have my groceries! What do they want... me to go to Sainsburys or Asda?

Saturday, 10 January 2009

Abandonment

Can you believe that a new born baby was abandoned in a field. I am not saying shower the baby in silver baby gifts but come on, at least leave the baby in a basket on the doorstep of someone, ring the bell, run and hide! At least this way the baby stood a chance of survival. If the baby was not found by the boys, she could have died! Isn't that sad?

Manx Voice

Owen has been building a new site called Manx Voice. He is currently really pre-occupied with its security. I think he is inputting some 2-factor authentication or something like that. Honestly it is a bit beyond me. I just submit articles and that is as far as my understanding of the website goes.

Cleaning Jewellery

Here's a tip...

Most jewelry can be cleaned using simply soapy water. This includes mens jewelry, so there is no excuse to hand it to the wife to clean it. Capish?

Mind you, as a woman, if you decide to give me a piece of jewelry, I will glad clean some of your trinkets!! LOL!!

Presents

So today we asked Arthur what he would like for his birthday. His reply was "Presents". Not much help for us. Ok we were not expecting him to tell us, "excuse me, but I would really like some teryx accessories and a book on astronautics!", but perhaps something along the line of "I want a remote control car and a lazy town or numberjacks book! Argh!

Plants

Arthur was given an Amaryllis plant by Grandpapa yesterday. He keeps watching it "grow". He asked if I thought it had grown this morning. Give him a little time and he will be asking me for grow lights! Hopefully he will have green fingers unlike me!

Sunday, 4 January 2009

Arthur's Birthday

It just hit me that it is two weeks to Arthur's Birthday. I cannot decide what to get Arthur as he seems to have everything even original NFL Jerseys!

Can you believe it... in just a fortnight Arthur will be 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Friday, 2 January 2009

Time to Renew

Time to prune my plants... and perhaps get some grow lights for them so that I can actually see them grow before they die! My strawberries last year suffered a miserable fate with them actually rotting before they even ripened. Arthur was ever so sad that they kept going bad! Fingers crossed for a bumper crop this year.
